Phenom From Foley Claims Title And More At Missouri Trapshoot
The teen phenom from Foley! That has a ring to it, but I doubt Aidin Payonk would put much stock in it. The teen trapshooter from Foley had a big week last week in the Show Me state, taking home a Class B title in one event and placing in several others. Even the Missouri Trapshooters Association was equally impressed by Payonk's showing.
Foley Teen Aidin Payonk Outshoots the Field
I reached out to the Missouri Trapshooters Association (MTA) for more details on Aidin's week last week in Missouri, and the email I got back was both complimentary of Aidin, as well as hopeful for what he might accomplish in the future, if he sticks to the fast-growing sport.
According to the MTA, Aidin entered the Missouri State Shoot, which ran May 19th through the 25th, as a sub-junior, but he didn't stay in that category for long.
Aidin was competing on a national level with shooters from Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Texas, etc.
In Event 10 and Event 14 and Event 15 and Event 16, he leapfrogged over his age category and placed in his yardage classification and doubles and singles.
The High-Over-All Winner List (last page) is great. That was a short list and he made it. In that one, he took B class, again jumping out of his age category, competing with all B class shooters and winning.
Aidin also came close in a few other categories, those went to a shootout, which can be nerve-racking for all those involved.
Young Gun, Big Wins
Back in October, Aidin took home a Nevada Junior Trapshooting title, showcasing what we are all learning about him, that he is consistent, consistently good.
How Aidin Did In Missouri - Results
Here are some of the events that Aidin was a part of in the Missouri State Shootout, and how he did. If you see a line through his name, that means he lost in a shootout. Images of the standings came from the Missouri Trapshooters Association.
Congrats to Aidin on his latest contest, and here's hoping he continues to outshoot the competition...because trapshooting is an Olympic sport now...
