This past weekend, Wisconsin saw some unexpected visitors—loons wandering far from water, a sight that’s as concerning as it is unusual.

Possessing feathers from migratory birds could result in a $15,000 fine or be imprisoned for six months.

On their trip south, loons can fly more than 75 miles per hour. Pretty impressive for a bird that can't walk on land really well.
