Wingfest 2012 is about a week away and we get to look at some of the names of the sauces in anticipation of one of my favorite events of the year. Check out some of these crazy names!

As we are setting up for WingFest each year, I take a trip down contestant row just reading some of the names of the different sauces that are competing. I chuckle at some and wince at others just thinking about how hot they might be.

This year we are featuring the hottest wings in the Viking Land Harley Davidson Hall of Flame. This area is just for those that can bear eating something that will make you sweat, drool, groan in pain and then dread the next day. I don't know for sure that these sauces will be there, but looking at the names I can only imagine that these sauces will end up in the Hall of Flame.

Screaming Monkey, Howling Monkey, Topical Habanero, Flaming Habanero, @$$ Blaster and Four Cheeks Hot and Spicy Sauce. Those last two make me laugh because they come right out and tell you that you will dread the next 24 hours.

Spicy isn't the only sauce you will find at WingFest 2012. There are savory sauces, sweet sauces, BBQ sauces and fruity sauces. If you are afraid of @$$ Blaster, these sauces may just be the right ones for you.

Billy Bear Apricot, Uncle Pete's Honey Mustard, Cindy's Sinfully Sassy, Smoke N' Berries, Tang-O-Lishious, Rum Dum BBQ, or Drunken Hunyuck Sauce. Now see, those sound a little more tame right?

All in all there will be over 20 different sauces to try at WingFest from the professional chefs to the amateur cooks that want to win the trophy in their category.

Let's say you want to attend WingFest, but you are the only one in the family that likes wings. That's ok, the rest of the family can come along because there will be other food there from Pizza to BBQ to soup and sandwiches. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!

Make your plans now and join us Saturday, April 14th at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Sauk Rapids. I hope to see you there!
