According to standards provided by the US Food & Drug Administration, The Environmental Working Group says that almost two thirds of sunscreens are not meeting standards.

This year the group said it analyzed the ingredients and performance of around 1,300 products out of over 12,000 that are on the market with sun protection factor, otherwise known as SPF.

750 of those are marketed as beach and sport sunscreens, which makes you believe that if you're going to be outdoors in direct sunshine, you'll have some protection from the sun, right?  Ask my boys if their sunscreen provided them any protection when they were at a festival a couple weekends ago? I say...NOT?

Over 60% of the products evaluated do not offer adequate sun protection or contain potentially harmful chemicals.
