Even though this sounds amazing, I find it extremely hard to believe. Researchers at the University of Montana did a study on athletes after their workouts.

One group of athletes were given protein shakes, bars, energy cubes and Gatorade after a 90 minute treadmill workout. A second group of athletes were given soda, hamburgers, pancakes and french fries after the same workout.

Two hours later, researchers asked the athletes to ride a stationary bike for 12 miles as fast as they could. The study found there was no difference in the speed in which the athletes were able to maintain.

Athletes who ate the junk food had higher levels of glycogen, which is good for you when you need energy to power through your workout. Thus, eating fast food after your workout is the same as having protein.

Obviously fast food is still bad for you. The only time it's probably ever OK for your body is when you're burning off the calories right away.

It's still fun to say that fast food is just as good for your workouts as a protein shake.
