Although it's still a couple of days away, the National Weather Service says significant, widespread snow is possible Friday into Saturday, when much of the area could see 6+ inches.

Early NWS estimates are calling for 6 to 8 inches in St. Cloud, but other models are estimating 7 to 9 inches -- and one Twin Cities TV meteorologist said last night that 14+ inches are possible.

The bottom line is that the closer we get, the better idea of how much snow will far where (and when).

From the National weather Service this morning: Another round of light snow is expected to develop overnight and continue into Wednesday afternoon, with amounts generally on the order of 1-3 inches. Heavy snow continues to look possible Friday into Saturday as a winter storm impacts the Upper Midwest.
