SCSU Men’s Hockey Scores 5-3 Win Over Omaha

The #6 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey team (16-6-3) defeated visiting #13 Nebraska-Omaha (14-12-1) 5-3 last night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

The Huskies found themselves trailing 1-0 after the first period, but would tie it up early in the second and never look back -- with goals coming from Judd Peterson, Nick Poehling, Mikey Eyssimont, Easton Brodzinski, and Robby Jackson.

All three goals for the Mavericks came in the form of a hat trick from David Pope. SCSU outshot Omaha 42-18.

Game two of the weekend series is tonight in St. Cloud at the National Hockey Center with the puck set to drop at 7:07 PM CT (TV: SCSU Sports Net, Radio: KZRV 96.7 FM).
