St. Augusta Prepares For Road Construction Project To Begin
A long-awaited residential road construction project is about to begin next week on 238th Street, Gaberdine Road, and 240th Street, all of which are being repaired. Many residents who live on the stretch of road are excited, as the road has been a problem for the last 2-3 years.
A Long Time Coming For Residents
The stretch of road that runs along 238th Street, Gaberdine Road, and 240th Street is finally getting some much-needed attention. The popular shortcut to get to I-94 for motorists is going to be getting some improvements over the next few months, along with a new path that will be constructed along the road.
Road Not Expected To Close To Traffic
According to City Administrator Jennifer Nash, the roadway won't be closed to traffic; however, it might be best for motorists to use other roadways during construction, as there may be delays. Some options for motorists who are looking at getting to or from I-94 could use 245th Street or take exit 171 off of I-94 to access County Road 7.

Nash also expressed optimism over the trail portion being added alongside the roadway, as that will eventually connect to the Beaver Island Trail, creating more options for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the community and Central Minnesota.
Questions About The Project?
The project has been communicated to affected residents, but if there are questions about the project, you can reach out to the City of St. Augusta or Moore Engineering.
