Rice Residents Are Invited to This Community Event
If you have kids or grandkids, there’s always the challenge of finding things to keep them entertained. You want to be able to keep their interests, maybe even help them learn and grow a little bit too.
Sunday October 6th from 1-4pm is one of those opportunities. The Rice Fire Department will be holding their annual open house. They’ve been holding this event for the last decade or so, and it’s a great way to have the community become more aware of safety and who to call when there is a need.
Of course there will be fire trucks on site, plus other emergency vehicles including an ambulance for the kids to become more acquainted with.
There will be a “Fire Hose Spray”, where you can actually feel what it’s like to operate a fire hose and the water pressure that comes with it. You’ll probably have the chance to knock something over with the water, which let’s be honest sounds fun for anyone.
There will also be Wildfire Mitigation information, helping you and your family learn safety tips on keeping your home and the land surrounding it safe.
There will be additional information on fire safety which if nothing else can serve as a good reminder for your family. You can never really be too prepared with information which it comes to reacting quickly when there is a fire.
This year will be the second year the Rice Fire Department has held a free community Bar-B-Q. So, you will be able to teach your kids some things in a manner that is fun for them and feed them as well.
If you’ve ever thought about a career in Fire Fighting, this would be a great chance to get more information to see if you want to pursue becoming a fire fighter.
Put this on your calendar for fun, food and information that could help safe someone's life.
