The team at Marv's True Value in Princeton posted sad news yesterday. Their long-time friend, the owner and President of Marv's, has passed away at 68.

Jon George was not just a business owner in Princeton. Jon was someone who built lasting relationships with his employees and the members of the Princeton community.

A MAN WHO BELIEVED IN KINDNESS

According to those who knew him, Jon was someone who treated people with kindness. He treated them like they were his neighbors. If you were able to spend any time at all with Jon, your heart is hurting today.

He also loved to fly. Jon had an airplane and loved to share his gift of flying with his family, the center of his world. He married Tedda in 2001, whom he cherished as a life partner, raising children, grandchildren, and was expecting a great-grandchild. He was said to be the kind of Father and Grandfather that spent time with his family, not just making lasting memories, but teaching important life lessons.

LOVE THOSE MINNESOTA GOPHERS!

Jon was also a Minnesota Gopher football fan, holding season tickets for 25 years. He was a member of the Princeton Lions Club for 20 years, and also served on the boards for the Chamber of Commerce and Aviation.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 15th at Rockwoods in Otsego.

His family is planning to establish a scholarship fund in his honor to ensure that his love of supporting the community continues for years to come.

Jon lived a life that many of us could choose to model after. Leave your legacy, be kind to others, and encourage your friends and family to cherish time together.
