Rapidan Dam Store: Resilience Shines Through Adversity In Minnesota

It's been a stressful few days for one Southern Minnesota business. The pie institution known as The Rapidan Dam Store, has been in business since the Rapidan Dam was built back in 1910. The Dam Store's owners home, which fell into the river, are now homeless, but that hasn't broken their spirit.

First. Thank You! Each and everyone of you! The support is felt by us all. It is appreciated beyond measure.

Second. We don’t know what will happen. Minute by minute has been playing out right in front of our eyes and it’s hard to experience.

Thirdly and Finally. The Dam Store has not sold its last burger or sold its last slice of pie. When it is safe for all, We Will Be Open in some way or shape.

I love this message from the Hruska family. I've seen that on the local news stations, there is a family 'spokesperson' who was speaking to the media, but having the actual business put out a statement like this only means good things, like staying open and serving up delicious pies, burgers, and shakes, albeit from probably a new location, based on the flood damage in the immediate area of the current location.
