Randy Travis Naked During DWI Arrest, Witnesses Say

More details are now available regarding Randy Travis‘ arrest in North Texas on Tuesday night. As previously reported, the singer was nabbed for suspicion of DWI, as well as retaliation and obstruction, after he allegedly crashed his car and “verbally threatened” a police officer. Reports are now surfacing that Travis was naked at the time of his arrest, which came just before midnight.

The Associated Press states that the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says Travis is being jailed without bond as he awaits a Wednesday hearing in Sherman, Texas, a town 60 miles north of Dallas. Sgt. Rickey Wheeler tells the AP that the 53-year-old was arrested near his hometown of Tioga, Texas.

Representatives for Randy Travis have yet to respond to requests for comment about the incident. In February, the singer issued a statement after his early 2012 arrest for public intoxication. At the time, he said he was “committed to being responsible and accountable” in the future.
