Free Microchips & Fall Fun Await At TCHS Paws & Pumpkins Event
Get ready for an afternoon filled with wagging tails, pumpkins, music, and plenty of fun!
Tri-County Humane Society’s Paws & Pumpkins is bringing pet lovers and animal alumni together for a fall celebration you won’t want to miss.
2ND ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE
Tri-County Humane Society is hosting its second annual Paws & Pumpkins Fall Open House on Tuesday afternoon, October 13th, from 4 to 6 p.m., and I’ll be there with the radio station playing some tunes and hanging out with my sweet little dog, Gloria, to greet you and your furry pups. Mr. Bean, Pnuema, and my latest adoption Cordell, were all from TCHS. My Beautiful Jeremiah Johnson was a rescue from aunt Marlene, who many think was sent to this planet to be the cat and kitten guardian of the planet.

ALUMNI REUNION FOR PEOPLE AND THEIR PETS
Paws & Pumpkins is not only an open house. It’s also an alumni reunion for all those wonderful animals who have passed through TCHS over the years and found their forever families.
Even if you adopted a pet from TCHS that gave you years of love and friendship, like my beautiful Mr. Bean, whom I adopted way back in 2013 when he was just 7 years old, and lost him this year at the age of 20...This is a time to reflect on all the years of love and family that have been created by people and pets passing through the doors of TCHS.
SHARE YOUR TCHS ADOPTION STORIES
I’m especially looking forward to meeting some of those “animal alumni” that you've had for a while, and hearing the stories of how they became part of your family. Who knows? While you're here, you might find that new family member that you've been looking for too.
There will be plenty going on during the event, and vendors will be visiting and bringing their deliciousness and goods, including Scooter’s Coffee, Oh FUR Cute Pet Mobile Grooming, and AHTA Cakes. You can also learn more about volunteering, fostering, and supporting Tri-County Humane Society while you are here.
BRING YOUR DOGS
Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome, and they’re encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit for the costume contest.

PHOTOS AND FUN
A fall-themed photo area will be in the front yard, so this is your chance to get that adorable pumpkin-season picture with your best friend.
FREE MICROCHIPS FOR PETS
And this might be my favorite part: FREE microchips for pets.
TCHS staff will be offering walk-in microchipping during the event, with no registration required. They’ll also be giving away collars, leashes, and ID tags while supplies last. This giveaway is made possible by a grant from Subaru Loves Pets, St. Cloud Subaru, and the ASPCA.
Microchips are the only permanent form of identification for your pet, so this is a great opportunity to get your dog or cat protected. Just remember, if you adopted your pet from TCHS, your pet probably already has a microchip. If you didn't, now is a great time to get it done.
DOGGIE TATTOOS
There will even be a little extra fun for the pups. Raylene Johnson of Wags on Wheels Mobile Grooming will be offering “doggie tattoos,” which are pup-safe designs created with stencils.
So basically, your dog can come home with a fresh new look, a microchip, and maybe even a prize from the costume contest.
Sounds like a pretty good afternoon to me!
TCHS SINCE 1974...A GREAT REASON TO CELEBRATE
Tri-County Humane Society has been caring for pets and people in Central Minnesota since 1974, and Paws & Pumpkins is a great way to celebrate the animals who have found homes while helping the shelter continue its mission.
So grab your dog, grab the family, put on your best fall clothes, and come say hello.
I’ll be there playing some music, meeting the TCHS alumni, and probably stopping to say hello to just about every dog I see.
Come for the pumpkins...Stay for the puppies...Stay for the kittens...Stay for the cats, or even the critters, and maybe...go home with a new one!
Whatever your reason for coming, let's celebrate together.
