After 25 years in Downtown Minneapolis, the Old Spaghetti Factory will be closing its doors. I'm so sad! This place seems like such an iconic part of Minneapolis even though the Old Spaghetti Factory is a chain. One of my first dates with my husband was at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

A manager at the Old Spaghetti Factory confirmed with the Star Tribune "the restaurant will serve its last plate of pasta on August 24th." The Star Tribune also writes that there are a few small reservations still available. Don't bring a ton of your friends and their kids, they probably won't be able to accommodate!

So what's replacing the Old Spaghetti Factory? Pinstripes. I believe there's only one other Pinstripes in Minnesota and it's located in Edina. I've never been there but on their website, it appears that it's sort of like a sports bar setting but with lots of space where you can bowl and play bocce.

Shane LeFave is a director of multifamily development for Sherman Associates. Sherman has offices on the second level of the building the Old Spaghetti Factory is in, which will need to be moved to the third level to make room for Pinstripes.

Shane told the Star Tribune that "the redesign could take a year or more to complete and includes moving stairwells, installing an elevator shaft, building out a rooftop deck, and making enough structural changes to support bowling alleys on two stories."
