Northern MN’s Largest Drive-Thru Light Show Has Opening Date
Road trip anyone? The largest Northern Minnesota Drive-Thru Light Show, which has been years in the making, is becoming a reality this month, and it sounds spectacular! The event is happening up in Itasca County, but from what I've read it seems like it is worth the drive.
The event is called Lights in the Pines, and it is being held in Grand Rapids at the Itasca County Fairgrounds (1397 3rd Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MN 55744)
According to a social media event page, there are some rules for people to follow, but it's pretty straightforward otherwise.
GRAND OPENING!!! Come visit Northern Minnesota's largest drive-thru light show at the Itasca County Fairgrounds! The cost is $10.00 per car/truck and $25.00 for small buses. No RV's, please. (The last car is let in at 9 PM, no exceptions). When you are done enjoying the lights, stop by Santaland and see all the beautiful scenes of the season. There will be hot cocoa, coffee, popcorn, and souvenirs available to purchase. Itasca Life Options will have an assortment of various gifts available for purchase! Santa will be there so you can use your phone or have the professional photographer take a picture with Santa!
The event is set to open on Black Friday and run through the end of the year, with the event mostly being open on just Friday's and Saturday's up until the last week they are open, in which the event would be open every day that week.
There will be an opportunity at the end of the light displays, to park and enter Santaland, where you will be able to visit and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will be hot chocolate, coffee, popcorn, and cookies to purchase. The Lights in the Pines has partnered with Itasca Life Options to exhibit and sell their crafts and artwork in Santaland. There will also be Lights in the Pines merchandise available to purchase.
