Have you seen them on Kwik Trip shelves? It's impossible to miss the gigantic display of Kwik Trip Dunkers that are laid out before you as you go through the checkout line.

But this creation just might be the best Dunker they've ever created.

SO YUMMY

I heard a rumor that Kwik Trip was going to be featuring Mountain Dew Dunkers several months ago, but I didn't know if it was just a rumor or if it was actually going to happen.

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE

Ever since the rumor started circulating, I've been checking the store for green and yellow boxes, set up in strategic locations, full of Mountain Dew Dunkers. Before I came home from work yesterday, I went there to grab a few items and looked around the store for the mysterious dunker. Nowhere was there to be a Mountain Dew Dunker in sight.

Last night, I woke up a little after 1 am and headed to the kitchen for a late-night snack. What to my wondering eyes should appear, but a green and yello dunker box that said, "MOUNTAIN DEW DUNKERS!"

TASTE TEST AT HOME

I had to take a double-take. I walked to the counter in my kitchen and opened the box. There was only one dunker left inside. I thought to myself, surely this is for me. One of my sons must have bought these and left one just for me. Under my assumption, I promptly grabbed a glass out of the cupboard and headed to the fridge to get a cup of milk.

GREEN DEWNUTS

I opened the box. The Dunker had a light green appearance and looked to be slightly glazed with a very light green frosting.

I took the first bite and thought to myself...this...could...be...dangerous.

The Mountain Dew Dunkers have a light, limey, citrusy flavor. Would I think 'Mountain Dew' had I not known that is what it was? I'm not sure...But I don't think so. I thought it tasted limey...a really delicious limey.  Sweet, yet light and delicious. Now that I know what it is, I believe that the aftertaste may have left a Mountain Dew flavor, which I think was one of the best soda flavors ever created.

As a Dunker, it absolutely is a must. I believe it's my favorite Dunker. Since my boys brought it home, I assume they are available everywhere.

If you like Dunkers in general, if you like lime flavors, and if you are a hard-core Mountain Dew lover, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

THE BAD NEWS

The bad news is, the Mount Dewnuts are a limited-time offering. They are a part of a summer promotion running through August 16th, and after that, you may never see them again. If you want some, you'd better find some before they disappear!
