THE UPS AND DOWNS OF POLITICS IN MINNESOTA

I cannot imagine being involved in politics in the past few years. Do most people feel a calling to serve people? To do something to help democracy and live peacefully and fight for all?

Governor Walz surely has had a life of ups and downs and unexpected turns while serving as Minnesota's Governor. Imagine his surprise when he was asked to run for Vice President. Recently, Governor Walz was asked if he would run for President in 2028. He responded, "If I think I could offer something...I would certainly consider that. I'm also, though, not arrogant enough to believe there's a lot of people that can do this."

SKILL SET

I was impressed that he never planned for his life to be what it is today. Walz said that if the circumstances were right in the next election, and if his 'skill set' was ready for the moment, he would consider it.

"I worry about people who have ambition for elected office. I don't think you should have ambition. I think you should have a desire to do it if you're asked to do it if you're asked to serve. And that's kind of where I'm at."

STRUGGLING WITH THE LOSS

He said that he struggles with the loss for the run for office. He felt that it was his job to get it done, and it didn't happen. He says it weighs on him, watching people being hurt by the cuts.

WEIGHING HEAVY

"And now when I see Medicaid cuts happening, when I see LGBTQ folks being demonized, when I see some of this happening, that's what weighs on me."

EATING GLASS

When the Governor was asked if he will be running for an open US Senate Seat, he made it clear that he was absolutely 'not interested. I believe he commented that he'd rather 'eat glass' than return to Congress.

WILL WALZ RUN FOR GOVERNOR AGAIN?

What about running for Governor again?

Walz tod a reporter last month from WCCO, "I think right now, we'll get through this legislative session and I think if you see numbers like this, and you see the public being there, and I feel like I'm able to do the job, I think I would look at it."

SHOULD WALZ RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2028?

In February, a poll showed that his approval rating was at 55%.

How do you feel about Governor Walz running for President? How do you feel about him running for Governor again?
