Smaller space heaters are popular to keep a smaller space warm without possibly having to turn the heat on for the whole house or office.

A lot of people will use smaller heaters under or around their desks at work as well to keep their workspace more comfortable. It was just last week that we got a member from our Market President reminding those in our building that have these heaters to make sure they turn them off when they aren’t at our desks.

As the memo said, there’s no reason to risk burning the building down by leaving heaters on when they’re not needed.

On the topic of space heaters, I came across a recall from the Consumer Product Safety Commission about a particular brand of space heaters that has a reported issue.

GoveeLife and Govee Smart Electric Space Heaters are being recalled because they have reportedly overheated easily which is not only a fire hazard but also creates the possibility of burns for those who own them.

The company says that well over 510,000 of these heaters were sold in the United States along with 48,600 sold in Canada.

If you own one of these heaters, you are urged to stop using it immediately and cut the power cord off from the unit and send an image of the destroyed unit to https://Govee recall.govee.com/heater-recall.

Thus far there have been 113 reports of these heaters overheating with seven reports of fires with one person suffering minor burns.
