Minnesota Wild Top Visiting Sharks 3-1
The Minnesota Wild (42-15-6) topped the visiting San Jose Sharks (38-19-7) 3-1 tonight at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. It's Minnesota's 9th straight win following a loss, in fact the Wild haven't lost two consecutive regulation games in four months.
Eric Staal had two goals including an empty netter, and had a chance at a second empty net goal for the hat trick, but came up just short.
With the win the Wild regain a one point lead ahead of Chicago in the Central Division, with the Blackhawks having played two more games. Minnesota also regains the top spot in the Western Conference.
Next the Wild host the St. Louis Blues Tuesday night (3/7) at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Let's go Wild!
