It is wedding season. Do you remember all the rules that had to be followed back in the day? All that is out the window these days. Here are the rules of the past that were meant to be broken.

THE WEDDING PARTY

It used to be that the bride had to have women standing up for her, and the groom had to have men standing by his side. NOT THE CASE ANYMORE! I'm so glad that if you're best friend is a guy or girl, they can stand by your side on your special day.

INVITATIONS AND RSVP CARDS

With social media, it seems a little extreme to mail invitations with RSVP cards anymore. AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Remember there may be some people on your list that aren't connected through social media, but mass mailings are not necessary!

THE BRIDES PARENTS PAY FOR THE WEDDING

Grooms parents probably loved this idea; but parents; it's not the case anymore. Share the bill and make everyone happy.

MATCHING DRESSES

I was at a wedding this weekend where all the girls wore different style dresses, and two alternating colors, a rose and a pink color. It was beautiful! And the dresses flattered each and every woman's figure. Do what you want!

FAMILIES CAN SIT WHEREVER THEY WANT

It used to be that the grooms family had to sit on one side, and the bride's family on the other. But all that does is look like one side of the family cares more than the other. Sit where you want. We are all here to celebrate your special day.

YOU CAN SEE EACHOTHER BEFORE THE WEDDING

Yes...You can see the bride.  Bride...you can see the groom. If you're basing your marriage on wives tales, it may not last long. Enjoy seeing eachother as much as you can on this special day!
