Minnesota National Guard Flyovers Planned for Wednesday
The Minnesota National Guard will salute workers on Minnesota's frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic with statewide flyovers tomorrow.
While Wednesday's flyovers will be focusing on medical facilities, they are meant as a salute to everyone keeping us fed, supplied, and healthy during the current crisis -- including healthcare workers, first responders, grocery workers, and everyone else who has been showing up and getting the job done.
A pair of F-16s from the Duluth based 148th Fighter Wing will conduct a salute over the Saint Cloud VA Hospital and St. Cloud Hospital between 11:10 and 11:25 Wednesday morning.
Minnesota's flyover salutes follow the same being done around the country by the Navy's Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds of the Air Force.
Times may vary. Guard officials recommend watching from rooftops or open areas for the best view -- but remember to include social distancing in your plans.
Pete Hanson is on 98.1 Minnesota's New Country weekday mornings from 5:30 to 10:00.
