‘Minnesota Frost’ Champions Face Expansion Draft Shake-Up TONIGHT
Tonight, the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Walter Cup Champions, the Minnesota Frost, will find out which two players they will lose to the two new teams joining the PWHL.
PWHL Seattle and PWHL Vancouver will join the six existing teams in the popular PWHL sport after two successful seasons. It's a great sign that Professional Women's Hockey is here to stay.
WHAT WILL THE NEXT SEASON LOOK LIKE WITHOUT THEM?
Since the Minnesota Frost were the champions two years in a row, I'm wondering who will be leaving The Frost tonight. We might be seeing a completely different Minnesota Frost next season.
Right now, the Frost have protected Forwards Kendall Coyne Schofield, Britta Curl-Salemme, Taylor Heise, and Defenseman Lee Stecklein.
WHAT PLAYERS ARE IN THE DRAFT?
That leaves Forwards Katy Knoll, Denisa Krizova, Brooke McQuigge, Kelly Pannek, Dominique Petrie, and Grace Zumwinkle, as well as Defenseman Mae Batherson, and Goalie Nicole Hensley, up for grabs in tonight's Expansion Draft.
The event will be taking place at 7:30 central time on thepwhl.com and PWHL YouTube channel.
Seattle and Vancouver will each get to choose seven players apiece for their 12-player roster.

WHAT TWO PLAYERS WILL BE LEAVING THE FROST?
What two players do you think we will be losing? Who wouldn't want #3 Brooke McQuigge? She scored 8 goals, tied with protected player Taylor Heise. Grace Zumwinkle was the 2024 Rookie of the Year. Who wouldn't want someone with that title on their team?
Honestly, if you get any two players from the Championship Frost, you're going to be off to a great start.
