Minnesota DNR Eagle Cam Nest Hatches an Egg [Watch]

Who's in the mood for some good news?!

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has been live streaming an eagle nest on YouTube for the past month and the first chick has hatched! There were three eggs in the nest to start, with the first egg laid on February 6th. On March 15th the first pip, or small hole was spotted in the shell, and eaglet #1 was out shortly after.

This year's eagle pair is new to the nest, and most likely new to parenting. The birds originally moved into the nest back in November 2019 and immediately started reinforcing it with sticks. According to the DNR, they seem very bonded to each other, spending most of their time together - showing fondness for each other and sharing food commonly.
