This is pretty cool!

According to KARE 11 a Macalester college student and his team, 'The Cure,' entered a computer programming contest called HackDC.

In less than two days Tyler and his team put together code for an app that will help veterans with night terrors.  As civilians we can't begin to fathom the things our military sees and the images they have to live with forever.  It's these types of things that lead to their night terrors and PTSD.  His inspiration for developing this app was his father, who served in Iraq and suffers from night terrors.

This smartwatch app, myBivy, monitors heart rate and movement in the hopes of predicting and preventing night terrors.  It won Tyler and his team a prize in the contest but still needs to be tested before it could actually be used.

This is incredible! Many times we hear about technology doing negative things but here's something that has the potential to be very positive and help those who have served our country. Way to go, Tyler!
