Minneasotan Comes Out of a Coma with Help From Music
When people are in a coma, there is always the question of whether or not they can hear and are aware of their surroundings.
Turns out, we may have that answer.
Dylan Bodie had been at a local bar back in November. At one point he blacked out and went into cardiac arrest. There didn't seem to be a reason as to why, but when the toxicology report came back, it showed that he had been poisoned. Someone has slipped something into his drink.
He was in a coma for 4 days.
According to KARE 11, Bodie's husband, Aaron tells the story that Dylan was able to hear his favorite band Coldplay and he woke up shortly after that.
Here is where the story gets even better; Bodie and his husband traveled to New Zealand to see a Coldplay concert. They also brought a sign with them stating that Coldplay's music, specifically the song Magic, had saved his life and brought him out of a coma. Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, saw the sign and asked if this story was true. Not only did he find out that it was in fact true, but also brought Bodie up on stage to sing that song with him. Martin also allowed Bodie to harmonize with him. Quite a moment.
Bodie Dylan says he's been harmonizing with Chris Martin for years in his car...
Pretty cool. Chris Martin could have just seen the sign, maybe brought attention to it and left it at that, but bringing him up on stage was an extra step that not all performers would do. That's awesome, and what a bucket list moment.
