Oftentimes, it's good to be efficient. Meet Tri-Pawed (three-legged) Dilly, today's Pet of the Week from Tri-County Humane Society.

Dilly is a neutered 3-year-old black & tan (an Irishman's best friend?) mixed breed goodest boy. His right rear leg was amputated because of an injury prior to being transferred to Tri-County Humane Society...but that hasn't reduced his love! He's great on a leash, loves to go on walks, and will "herd" people when he wants attention. He's not a fan of cars and stairs (a single-level home would be best for him). He does get separation anxiety; so a loving, patient, and mostly-quiet home will be his ideal landing spot.

Book Buddies Reading Program

Pets love to be read to. If you have a kiddo (age 5-15 years preferred) in your household who would LOVE to read to a shelter resident, then the Book Buddies program is for you (them)! Pets don't care about mispronounced words, and it's beneficial for both the kiddo (who gets practice reading aloud) and the resident, as shelter life can be stressful.

5 Myths About Tornadoes You Shouldn't Believe

Sioux FallsSouth Dakota may not be smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley, but we still get our share of severe thunderstorms. Thunder, rain, lighting, and tornadoes are all possible.

The thing about tornadoes is that they are very destructive and very rare. Most people probably won’t even see an actual twister in their life. But if they do, it can mean devastation.

We don’t need to be at battle stations all spring and summer and freak out every time it gets cloudy.

We do need to think, prep, and pay attention.
