Mayo Clinic & Funeral Home Accused of Cremating Wrong Body

Uh oh! A lawsuit has been filed -- accusing the Mayo Clinic and a Rochester, Minnesota funeral home of negligence in the mistaken cremation of a Wisconsin man. The man's wife says the clinic and Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester acted recklessley -- saying he never wanted to be cremated.

According to the lawsuit the man was brought to Mayo Clinic after falling down the stairs causing a head injury. He died eleven days later, and was supposed to be released to a Wisconsin funeral home for a 'Christian burial.'

Instead, it appears Mayo Clinic released the body to the wrong funeral home where it was cremated. The $#!+ ht the Mayo fan when the correct funeral home came to pick up the body. (Can you imagine the faces & panic that hit the team at the clinic as they were realizing what had happened?) Whoops.

The family is asking for $75,000.
