If you were hoping to get to a movie in Waite Park today, you'll have to wait a little longer. Marcus Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park will remain temporarily closed despite Minnesota Governor Tim Walz allowing theaters to reopen under new guidelines at 25 percent capacity. There's no word on when the theater plans to reopen.

The movie theater's voicemail system says the theater is closed but will be open Friday through Thursday for curbside pickup only. You can pickup freshly popped popcorn between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Their hours are from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Your orders must be made in advance.

The phone lines will open for curbside pickup starting one hour before pickup is available--starting at 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Their Ultimate Popcorn Tub is available. When the theater reopens, you can get refills for $4.24 per visit as long as you bring the tub.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has lessened restrictions on movie theaters across the state. In order to reopen, they must have a COVID-19 preparedness plan in place, they will have to limit occupant capacity to no more than 25% and no more than 250 people. Social distancing rules of six feet will need to be enforced and workers as well as customers are encouraged to wear face masks.

You can follow Marcus Parkwood Cinema on Facebook for more updates and reopening announcements. You can also call them at 320-251-1188.
