St. Cloud is a relatively small area, but don't let that fool you--we've had our 15 minutes of Hollywood fame a few times. Check out the Hollywood feature films that were shot right here in our own backyard!

1. "Catch Me If You Can"--St. Cloud native turned Hollywood movie director, Stephen Sommers shot a few scenes from the movie "Catch Me If You Can" in St. Cloud. He later went on to direct the movie "The Mummy." Some of the film was shot at Cathedral High School and Apollo High School. There's a famous car chase scene that was also filmed in this area.

2. "Mighty Ducks"--The famous Disney movie courthouse scene used in the "Mighty Ducks" was actually shot at the Stearns Country Courthouse building. There were a few scenes filmed at the MAC but they didn't make the final cut in the full-length feature film.

3. "Juno"--Even though no scenes from the movie were actually filmed in St. Cloud, the movie is based in St. Cloud and makes a few references to the city throughout the movie.

4. "1408"--The Stephen King movie makes reference to St. Cloud, Minnesota being one of the most haunted places in the world. The movie claims that St. Cloud is home to a war widow who threw her baby down a well. Stearns History Museum records have not been able to back up the claims.

I think we're long overdue for another brush with big screen fame--Don't you?!
