Make A Wish On A Shooting Star- Meteor Shower Peaks TONIGHT!
Tonight might be the night for you to make a wish on a shooting star..or two..or maybe even three! This could be your big chance!
We are supposed to have clear skies tonight in central Minnesota, which is why I'm telling you now. You might want to look up this evening, as one of the oldest recorded meteor showers will be lighting up the sky!
THE LYRID METEOR SHOWER PEAKS TONIGHT!
The Lyrid Meteor Shower is happening right now, but the best viewing is expected to happen tonight and tomorrow night. You won't need any special equipment to enjoy the show...just a clear, dark sky.
Since the moon is setting early, the sky should be nice and dark. The moonlight shouldn't be interfering with your view of the shooting stars.

STAYING UP LATE TO SEE A DAZZLING SHOW
If you take the chance on staying up late and viewing the nighttime sky in a nice dark location, away from city lights, you have a chance to see as many as 20 shooting stars per hour!
The best viewing, according to 'Astronomy Lovers' on FB, is after midnight.
According to Space.com, you will be seeing more than just a shooting star. This star show is supposed to be like bright flashing fireballs in the sky.

WHERE SHOULD YOU LOOK?
Apparently, you should be able to look anywhere in the sky to see the shooting stars. Still, if you know where the constellation Lyra is, it rises in the northeast and climbs higher as the night goes on, so they say that the early morning hours are best for viewing, and if you look slightly away from the star 'Vega', you should be able to see more impressive streaks in the sky.
