Watch This Country Artist 'Drift' At Lakes Jam '26

Have you ever watched someone do something for the very first time...and absolutely love every second of it?

That's exactly what happened at Lakes Jam this past weekend. Sure, Dasha came to Brainerd International Raceway to perform on the big stage, but somewhere between soundcheck and showtime, she decided to trade her microphone for a helmet and experience one of Minnesota's biggest adrenaline rushes.

GETTING MORE THAN SHE BARGAINED FOR AT LAKES JAM '26

It seems some of our favorite country stars got a little more than they bargained for during Lakes Jam '26 at Brainerd International Raceway.

Dasha, the country star behind the massive hit "Austin," climbed into a drift car for what turned out to be the ride of her life. If you've never seen drifting in person, imagine a race car flying through corners completely sideways with tires smoking and the driver somehow staying in total control. It's loud, it's fast, and it definitely isn't for the faint of heart.

My friend Jerel Saxon, who has been part of Lakes Jam for years, got to witness it all firsthand. He told me both Dasha and Josh Ross wandered over to check out the drifting action while they were at BIR.

HOW WILL THE TAL GIRL FIT IN THAT LITTLE CAR?

Jerel admitted he wasn't quite sure how things were going to go when Dasha showed up. His first thought? "She's taller than I expected!" Then he noticed the high heels and wondered how she was ever going to squeeze into the race car.

As it turns out, she had absolutely no problem climbing in.

Once she was strapped into the passenger seat, it was time to hold on. Watch Dasha enjoy her ride below.

BURNIN' UP THOSE TIRES!

Drifting driver Cole Shake made sure that Dasha had the ride of her life for her first drifting experience.

The car slid sideways through the course, smoke poured off the tires, and the ride looked every bit as wild as you'd expect. The best part? Dasha never stopped smiling. Not during the ride. Not after it was over.

In fact, Central Minnesota can now claim a pretty cool first. According to Jerel, this was Dasha's very first drifting experience, making Brainerd International Raceway the place where she discovered just how much fun going sideways can be.

EMBRACING THE EXPERIENCE

I love seeing artists do things like this when they come to Minnesota. They could easily stick to the backstage area until it's time to perform, but instead, Dasha embraced the experience and made a memory she'll probably be talking about for a long time.
