I don't know about you...but it's the weekend and I'm up early enough to make food for everyone else before they get up. We've got a Twins game to watch today...We've got football tomorrow...I need something that won't take a lot of time, and that will free up YOUR time as well as mine, so I can enjoy my weekend as well. Enjoy this super easy quick chili recipe!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • I packet chili seasoning; your favorite: Mild, Medium, or hot
  • Two big cans of diced tomatoes
  • Two medium size cans of chili beans; I like white beans with chili flavor already added
  • Salsa
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped red, green and yellow peppers
  • Sour cream  optional
  • shredded cheddar cheese optional

DIRECTIONS

Heat up a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil, and add hamburger to brown. Break up the hamburger in little pieces to get the consistency of burger that you like.

While the hamburger is browning put a medium size pot on the stove and turn it on medium high. Add your tomatoes, beans, salsa, chopped onions, and chopped red, green and yellow peppers. HINT: I buy all of my chopped onions, salsa and peppers in small containers at Coborn's in the salad section. Saves me tons of time and a few cut up fingers. LOL.

Add half of your season to the mixture in the pot, and the other half to your hamburger.

Stir it in both the pot and with the burger; then add the burger to the chili mixture.

EXTRA'S

I'm not having sour cream right now; but I bought a small container of sour cream and some shredded sharp cheddar cheese so my family can add what they want; but it's just as tasty without it.

SERVE AND ENJOY

This simple recipe is ready in less than 15 minutes and can be served all weekend until it's gone! Enjoy the games!
