June is DAIRY MONTH! Ava’s Afternoon As A Dairy Farmer [VIDEO]

This month, 98.1 Minnesota's New Country is celebrating central Minnesota's dairy farmers in honor of June being Dairy Month! I was lucky enough to join the Marshik family from Gilman Coop to learn what it takes to be a dairy farmer.

It was a beautiful day to get down and dirty. I had never milked a cow before, or had any idea what it took to keep a dairy farm functioning on a daily basis. Brandon and Jill Marshik, along with their three children, were nice enough to show me the basics. I learned about the process of milking cows (that happens twice a day!) and raising them.
