WHAT ARE TED TALKS
Have you heard of TED TALKS? Wondering what they are all about?
TED.com is a non profit organization that is dedicated to spreading ideas, in the form of short powerful talks which usually last 18 minutes or less. It began in 1984 as a way to discuss topics like technology, entertainment and design, and has expanded to now cover almost all topics; everything from science, to business to global issues.
The Whitney Senior Center is hosting TED Circles, an “open community of small groups that engage in conversations about big ideas.”
TED Circles discussions are based on monthly themes provided by TED.
HOW TO ATTEND TODAYS EVENT
Would you like to attend? Whitney’s TED Circles are hosted by RSVP Volunteer Lalita Subrahmanyan on Zoom every Tuesday, from 1:00-2:00 pm. If you'd like to be a part of today's discussion, you can click HERE to connect.
Past discussions on TED Talks have included topics that are about the Environment, and designing with humanity and resilience.
According to the Whitney Center, participants say that through TED Circles they have met interesting people from a variety of backgrounds in the St. Cloud area and learned new perspectives on issues they have never considered or thought about before.
Everyone in the community is invited to participate and see what it's all about.
