With summer winding down my family and I have been trying to check some boxes off of our seasonal 'bucket list,' which until last week included shooting some hoops at Watab Park and walking along the Mississippi River in Sartell.

We played at the park, stopped for an app at Riverboat Depot, then ventured out onto the new-ish pedestrian bridge near the old paper mill site. I visited this bridge last summer as well and enjoyed it, even though a majority of comments were negative based on the fact the bridge is a dead-end on one side.

To each their own I guess.

I wasn't sure what to expect but the bridge was pretty awesome. Although it was just a short bridge/walk, there were some nice views and even a cool breeze from the water that felt refreshing.

After we saw a family of ducks looking for food and a giant turtle sunning on a rock my kid couldn't stop declaring how 'cool' and 'awesome' the bridge was.

We also noticed some padlocks on the bridge's chain-link fence, complete with inscribed initials and others with unique paint jobs.

The locks reminded me of the famous Pont des Arts bridge in Paris. At one point over 700,000 locks adorned that bridge... before the weight of the locks cause the bridge to fail.
