I’m Strategizing My Audition For “The Voice” Today

 WHAT'S HAPPENING

I've had a lot of questions about my upcoming audition for The Voice that is happening later today. I thought I would explain what's happening so you know the process. Right now, The Voice is conducting national "Virtual" auditions all over America.

This has been going on for sometime, and the Virtual auditions they are holding are to choose people to continue on and be a Contestant on the next season of The Voice. It all happens kind of fast.

THE FIRST STEP

The first step is landing an audition in the first place. I've landed one other audition in the past for this show and that was about 4 years ago. It was an amazing experience and really put into perspective how many talented people are out there that you never get to see.

So I was very excited when the screen popped up and told me to select a virtual audition time. I've tried to get in the virtual auditions before and they were full. SO this is a great first step. I'm actually just honored that I even HAVE this opportunity.

MOVING FORWARD

Next...If I am selected to move on from this point, someone will contact me shortly after my audition and give me further instructions. I will have the ability to sign up again for more virtual auditions if I want, and I can also send them a video submission if I choose.  I'm hoping that I don't have to pursue all of those avenues but that is a possibility.

Basically today...I have 1 minute and 30 seconds to do my best. I'm making a plan to stand out. I'm going to try to focus on things that work for me...and not worry about what everyone else is doing. They don't want you to perform original music, so I will be either performing something from Bonnie Raitt, or Linda Ronstadt, as I've noticed many of the country first round performers choose more classic rock type songs than actual country tunes.
