My mother-in-law invited my fiance and I to watch 'Purple Rain' outside of Target Field with her on Saturday night. I'd never watched the movie before and really didn't know what to expect.

There were tons of families and Prince fans gathered outside on blankets and with lawn chairs. I was actually really excited because it was the perfect night for an outdoor movie.

The movie started and I began to realize that it was probably rated R. Which is fine...if you're 17 years or older. There was nudity within the first ten minutes of the film. Moms everywhere were covering their kid's eyes. There was language, domestic violence, regular violence, suicide and more raunchy content being broadcast on a giant screen outside of Target Field. It was just a little awkward for everyone involved.

A little boy sitting next to us watched the movie through a picnic blanket for most of the film! The blanket didn't really help shield him from the language. The sound was so loud that I'm sure regular people going about their night elsewhere in the city also heard it.

I thought the movie was really good! But, having it out in public like that was a little strange. My fiance and I couldn't help but snicker and laugh because it was such a weird situation. It was definitely an experience I'll never forget.

#RIP Prince
