It's that time again, Valentine's Day is almost here.  It's a day filled with chocolate and flowers.  If you ask me, I think the whole thing is somewhat overrated.

No, I'm not one of those people who thinks that Valentine's Day is the worst thing in the world.  I just question why we need a holiday to celebrate love.  Isn't that what everyday should be about?

Sure, your significant other is probably not going to bring you candy and flowers every single day but that's just icing on the cake.  Take the most basic elements of a relationship -- respect, kindness, love and companionship -- can't those be celebrated everyday?  Or any day for that matter?

Don't get me wrong, as a female I like getting flowers or surprised once in a while but getting that every February 14th is no surprise.  I guess what I'm trying to say is we've made the day itself such a big deal on a commercial level that we've forgotten this can (and should) happen more often on a smaller scale.  Although, feel free to bring me chocolate anytime!
