I Can’t Believe How Good These New Menu Items Are At This Restaurant In St. Cloud
NEW 'MADE FROM SCRATCH' FOOD & DRINKS
Friday evening, my boyfriend and I decided to try some of the new menu items and new beverage options at Legends Bar & Grill in St. Cloud; and I have to say, we were in for a treat.
We spoke with some of the staff while trying to decide what we wanted to taste, and we had the pleasure of meeting Chef John, their Mixologist Allison, and our waitress Danielle for a fantastic experience.
SUNNIES & RINGS
First, we decided to try one of their sharables called 'Sunnies & Rings.'
The Sunnies were a fried sunfish, that was both crispy and tender; and once you dipped the fish into Legends homemade Lemon Caper Tarter Sauce, you wouldn't be able to stop eating it. I could've eaten that sunfish all night! The Onion rings were amazing as well. Truly! Big, thick onions slices that were large and covered with a crispy coating; exactly what you want when you order onion rings. Plenty of both to share. I honestly can't stop thinking about going back for more.
LEGEND'S NACHO'S
Nacho's anyone? If you're going to do Nacho's, it better be top-knotch for my boyfriend and I. We expect layers of meat, cheese and veggies leaving no chip uncovered. If you like big chunks of veggies and meat, then you're going to love these nacho's.
The nachos were made in house and were a blend of crispy and deliciously salty. Gosh I enjoyed the flavor and the crispiness of the chips. What I really loved about the nachos is that it was covered in big chunks of tender medium-rare grilled flank steak! Now that was different! I enjoyed the change up, along with the big jalepeno slices, melted monteray jack cheese, and a nice big dollop of sour cream topped with chives right in the middle. It was a beautiful presentation AND a treat for my taste-buds.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST
Finally; and probably my favorite, surprisingly was the Legendary Wings. They truly are legendary. We tried the dry rub chicken and they have a secret method of steaming and cooking the wings, while also slightly smoking them! The wings literally fell off the bone. It was one of the biggest surprises and most delightful things we tried Friday night.
Beverages you say? Oh yes! I had to try a few of their beverages. Allison is behind some of the amazing Legend creations, pairing each one of their special drinks with a legendary Minnesotan.
MADDY'S MIDNIGHT MARTINI
How about Maddy's Midnight Martini? It was like having a chocolate pie with whipped cream in a glass—incredibly smooth and delicious. Did I finish it? You bet I did. It was so good!
MARGARITA'S YOU SAY? BRING 'EM ON!
Legends makes their own Margarita mix, and offer a ton of options like this mango margarita, with a spicy salty rim. Oh my. I truly was in heaven.
IS IT WORTH A STOP?
If you haven't been to Legends in a while, then you are missing out on some of the best food you can find here in Central Minnesota. Whether you're staying overnight at the Holiday Inn, or just going out for lunch, Chef John has a thoughtful menu for every person's unique tastes. A wide selection of seafood options, meats and vegetarian delights. I didn't even get to the dinner menu! Danielle was a delightful waitress, and the whole staff made us feel like we were part of the team. Thank you for making our visit so delightful.
