I have seen first hand what a foreign exchange student can do for a family. It's the chance to learn things about another culture right in your own home, and it's the chance for you to change the students life by teaching them about our culture.

The best part is, in the process of learning and teaching,  you end up with another family member. The exchange student I know is from Germany, her name is Sarah. She came here for the first time to attend Apollo High School for the 2004 -2005 school year, but became so attached to her host family she visits almost every summer for a month. Meeting her and getting to know her has been so much fun,  except when she tries to teach me to speak German  - in my defense, that's a hard language - and it makes for a good laugh!

The opportunity is now yours, the Central Minnesota Foreign Exchange Program is looking for host families for the next school year.  Richard Barkalow coordinates the program , and he says they are struggling to find host families.  So if you are interested in changing the lives of you and your family for the better, call Richard at (320) 250-4867 to find out more.
