Unique Attraction: Moorhead Dairy Queen's Throne Bench Revealed

There's nothing quite like a dilly bar on a nice summer afternoon, right? One of the oldest Dairy Queen locations in the country is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and they recently unveiled a new 'attraction'. No, they didn't erect a 15-foot-tall Peanut Buster Bar, instead, they've added a custom throne to the outside of their humble location in Moorhead.

OK so maybe it's more of a bench, but it's still pretty neat.

The bench sits outside the walk-up Dairy Queen, near the world's Largest Dilly Bar. As you can see from the picture the bench features 5 of the signature red DQ spoons along the back of the bench. Each spoon has a crown painted on the top, and the armrests/ends of the bench are the tops of soft-serve cones, complete with the signature squiggle on top.

Something like this has been rolling around the owner's brain for some time as the post that accompanied the photo of the bench said:

This bench idea has been on our minds for a very long time. Our 75th anniversary year seemed to be the perfect time!

Back to the Moorhead Dairy Queen, World Record Academy states that this DQ isn't afraid to try new things as "The Moorhead Dairy Queen's alleged claim to fame is the invention of the Dilly Bar in the 1950's. Dilly Bars are still made fresh and hand-dipped in-store at the Moorhead DQ."
