3 Hidden MN Gems Where You Can Enjoy Breakfast
When you find a place that serves up a great breakfast, it's hard to share. We all want to keep these places to ourselves, not wanting the secret to get out, for fear of the next time we arrive for a short stack or biscuits and gravy, there won't be room, or worse yet, they are all out! Here are 3 hidden breakfast gems that are must-tries the next time you are looking for a new place.
Out of sight, but NOT out of mind!
The Pease Cafe has been a long-time staple in Pease, the small but welcoming community off Highway 169 just to the North of Princeton. The Pease cafe is known for delicious homemade food, the kind you'd get at your grandparents' place growing up.
Located at 212 Central Ave S in downtown Pease, it shouldn't be hard to find, just look for all the cars, as this place can fill up on the weekends during the summer months with 'cabin' traffic.
My personal favorite to get when I stop in, the biscuits and gravy.
Made From Scratch Food & Cocktails
My next hidden gem is a place that I was only introduced to in the last two years since moving to Central Minnesota. It's a little bit of a hike, but Margie's Kitchen and Cocktails in Andover is a fantastic brunch spot on the weekends and worth the drive.
Everything they make is from scratch, so if you have friends or family with a food allergy, they can generally work around that, and you'll still get fantastic and delicious food. I was just there for brunch in March, and the candied bacon Manhattan to go along with my huevos rancheros was superb.
**Can't make brunch? Try one of their handmade brick-oven pizzas!
A Quaint Little Cafe Nestled Alongside The Soo Line Trail
My final hidden gem for breakfast won't break the bank when you go out to eat. Jordie's Trail Side Cafe in Bowlus has some of the best biscuits and gravy in the area, and you don't need to take out a line of credit to enjoy them! Homemade, hot, and perfect every time I order at Jordie's, it's a spot out of the way that you should get to.
Don't dilly-dally when you are in the mood for breakfast, as it's only being served from 8am to 11am daily, but it's worth the trip out, I mean, take a look at this breakfast menu! You'll also have to note what time of year it is as Jordie's changes up the days and hours they are open depending on the time of year, you can double check those hours by heading to there website, here.

You can find Jordie's at 105 First Avenue South in Bowlus.
