A couple of weekends ago, I was invited to an exciting event called Crocktober by my friend Stephanie Hansen from Stephanie's Dish and 'Taste Buds' on Fox 9. Stephanie now has two amazing Minnesota-based cookbooks and decided to invite everyone to a fantastic event at King Coil Spirits in St. Paul on a Sunday afternoon.

At this event, I met some of the greatest people. Many of us brought crockpots full of our favorite dishes. I brought my boyfriend, Darin, because HE is the chef these days. He brought his award-winning White Chili, and everyone loved it.

TOM'S WILD RICE DELICIOUSNESS

Tom brought an amazing wild rice dish that was served with the lightest and fluffiest biscuits I've ever had. I would say if biscuits could be made with the melt-in-your-mouth texture of cotton candy, that's what he reminded me of. They were light and buttery, paired perfectly with the deliciously seasoned wild rice hot dish.

Tom Dokman is a passionate chef with over 20 years in the culinary industry. Clearly, Tom is all about the spice, and I guess I might call him a spice specialist. Tom and his wife, Nicole, are bottling up signature blends that will make your food sing to you.

THE WEDDING DAY STORY

What makes this story even more special is how it all got started- on Nicole and Tom's wedding day.

As a special gift, they presented each guest who attended their wedding with a bottle of their distinctive spice.

CAN WE GET A REFILL?

Weeks later, their friends and family members started asking for refills, and that's when they knew they had something special. Since that time, they have crafted five additional blends, which led to the creation of 'Here's the Deal Spice Company.'

Stephanie told me that the Crockpot Apple Crisp that she brought to the event had their signature ground Cinnamon blend in it. It was so delicious!

So it's exciting that now Tom and Nicole are bottling up their culinary knowledge and passion to bring you signature blends to help you create delicious foods you will love.
