Hennepin County (Minnesota's most populous county, and home to Minneapolis) tweeted an apology to residents today, following an error in their system that caused civil defense sirens to go off just after 6 o'clock this morning. Now that's a rude awakening!

That's a sound that gets my blood racing every time, even for that split second before I realize that it's 'test time' on the first Wednesday of the month.

This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota, and there are two tornado drills scheduled for Thursday (4/14/16) -- so expect to hear the sirens again statewide at 1:45 PM and 6:55 PM.
