CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY MILITARY PERFORMANCE

Lee is going to be performing the song this weekend at The Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca Cola 600 event, as a part of a military appreciation show, which will also be featuring the 82nd Airborne Chorus.

WHY LEE WROTE THE SONG

Lee Greenwood wrote this song after the Soviet Union shot down a Korean Airlines flight in 1983. The song only spent a few weeks at number stopping at number 7 in 1984.

Needless to say, it has become one of the most recognized patriotic songs in the USA. Happy 35th Birthday "God Bless The USA.," and thank you Lee Greenwood, for creating such a beautiful song.
