
Former President Jimmy Carter Has Cancer
Former President Jimmy Carter announced today that he is fighting cancer. The diagnosis resulted from a recent surgery on his liver. Carter also revealed that the cancer has spread to other parts of his body. Carter said, "I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment."
The 90 year-old Jimmy Carter is the country's 39th president -- beating Ford in '76, before losing to Ronald Reagan in 1980. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
