The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning in effect until 10:30 AM Wednesday morning for Benton, Kanabec, and Mille Lacs Counties in Central Minnesota. Many streams & rivers are flooding today as a result of last night's torrential rains, and are not expected to peak until later today or tonight.

The Snake River is showing rises of up to 10 feet, and will continue to rise through the day. Other rivers such as the Rum, Knife, and Elk Rivers are also out of their banks in spots. Many county roads are closed as a result, some with as much as three to five feet of water running over the roads.

As a rule of thumb, 'turn around, don't drown.' Do not attempt to cross flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
