I've been struggling to keep my toddler busy and engaged this winter. He's sick of puzzles, playdough, and well, being cooped up inside.

It's safe to say we're really missing summer and we've got months of winter left. I was so excited when I read that the St. Cloud area YMCA reopened their pool for family open swim!

Swimming in an indoor heated pool sounds like a dream right now. If you're interested in taking a dip at the Y, here's what you should know.

The family pool is only accepting up to ten people at at time, and you need to reserve your one-hour time block online ahead of time.

Your reservation will start at the time you chose online, not the time you arrive at the Y. So, make sure you get there on time so you can get your full hour in. They'll let you check-in for your pool time 10 minutes early. If you're late for your pool appointment by 10 minutes or more, you'll lose your timeslot.

The hot tub is open, but it's only available on a first-come first-served basis.

In addition to pool reservations, you can also reserve timeslots for the lap pool, group exercise, open gym, kids stuff and water exercise. They're only accepting walk-ins if the class isn't at max capacity.

The YMCA's website says, "areas may close for cleaning multiple times throughout the day.'
