Everything You Need To Know About Tonight's 'Hunter's Moon'

The Hunter's Moon will be filling the sky tonight across Minnesota. What exactly is it? The Harvest Moon is the full moon that falls closest to the Autumnal Equinox, and the Hunter's Moon is the one directly after that.

According to a post from NASA:

“According to the Farmer's Almanac, with the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the harvesters have reaped the fields, hunters can easily see the animals."

NASA also went into the origins of this moon in their post. It has also been called a Blood Moon or Sanguine Moon, based off the blood of the animals hunted and the color of the leaves in the fall.

So when can we see this Hunter's Moon? Nasa said it will be totally full at 12:45 p.m. ET on Wednesday, but it will appear to be full for about three days from Tuesday morning through Thursday night. Have fun moon spotting!
