ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The United Way of Central Minnesota and the St. Cloud Area School District are hosting a joint community celebration.
The event is this Saturday at Apollo High School from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The school district says a highlight of the day will be a public recognition of Superintendent Laurie Putnam, who has been named Minnesota Superintendent of the Year.
It will also be a celebration of the passing of the Apollo High School bond referendum.
The United Way will be having a kickball tournament, live youth performances, interactive cultural exhibits, and food trucks. They describe the event as a day of cultural celebration, creativity, and community connection.
The United Way's Cultural Heritage Series is part of its broader mission to create opportunities for all in Central Minnesota.

The event is free and open to everyone.
